The Civil Society Fund is managed by CISU in accordance with strategies and policies adopted by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The application and assessment procedures are described in the Guidelines for The Civil Society Fund. The Guidelines are available in Danish, English, Spanish and French in order to allow local partners in the South to participate in the formulation of applications on an equal level.

How to use the guidelines... In Denmark

The guidelines are used by the Danish CSOs to clarify formal demands, to identify possibilities, to understand the assessment criteria and to formulate applications. The guidelines are divided into a number of paragraphs, which reflect the steps an applicant must go through when writing an application.

How to use the guidelines... In partner countries

The guidelines are used by partner organisations in developing countries to understand the political framework, the formal demands and the assessment criteria that must be met by their Danish partner when applying. The guidelines can also be used to explore new possibilities in partnerships e.g. new ideas for projects or activities.

As a supplement to the Guidelines, CISU has produced a specific Budget Guide that may be used in the process of writing an application as well as an Administration Guide, which describes conditions and demands to the practical management of funds. These are available to download here
