Resume

This project will support the remote communities of Upper Mustang and their local governments to collectively design and establish flexible, inclusive short and long-term adaptation plans. Focus is on securing the participation of the most vulnerable communities in the planning process. Key local duty bearers will be capacity strengthened so they can better manage locally led adaptation activities. Thus, strengthening communities’ resilience to climate changes. There is also special focus on mobilizing youth and capacity strengthening them so they can be significant players in the struggle for climate justice. Hanging above these communities are the glaciers of the Asia’s Hindu Kush Himalayas. These are melting at unprecedented rates and could lose up to 75 percent of their volume by the century’s end. Nepal is highly vulnerable to climate and disaster risks. Nepal has achieved development progress in recent decades however, these gains are at risk due to climate change.
