Resume

The livelihoods of communities in rural areas - including Dhamug, have become hardened and extraordinarily complicated in some areas. The farmers in the suburbs and along the river banks have already been threatened by severe environmental degradation, some of which have even gone half of their sizes (farmlands) due to increased erosion and migration of topsoil. The proposed solution aims to enable the target community to cope and become effectively resilient to climate and water-shortage-induced vulnerabilities by ensuring daily water use, which is prominent regardless of what season. The project objective will be reached by recharging the water table, which will allow the general residents, and target groups, to have daily access to sustainable yields of potable water; Subsequently, the proposed solution will deliver the construction of one (1) Sand-dam, a subsurface sand-storage dam, explicitly a small masonry structure built across the bed of a seasonal river, in arched layout.
