Resume

The programme aim is to empower Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs) as forest guardians to enhance their livelihoods and rights. These communities rely on forests for sustenance, but face challenges due to unsustainable land use, insufficient rights recognition, and weak government policies. The program aims to: 1) Enhance policies for landscape conservation and local development to support sustainable forest management and poverty reduction, 2) Build local capacity for sustainable land use management to reduce poverty, boost climate resilience, and protect forests, and 3) Strengthen partners' ability to improve strategies by better management of knowledge on orangutan conservation, forest management, IPLC rights, and sustainable development.
