800 vulnerable families will receive help through unconditional multipurpose cash transfer (600 families) or in-kind donations (200 families) in rural and remote areas where cash-based interventions are not applicable due to lack of purchasing options. The intervention will take place in the regions of Francisco Morazán, Valle, Choluteca, and Comayagua and targets female-/single-headed households, families with pregnant or breastfeeding women, families with elderly, families with children below the age of five, and families with disabled people. The intervention is closely coordinated with COPECO (the main emergency coordination body in Honduras), other responding organisations, local government units, local stakeholders, and civil society in general. The targeted families will also participate in livelihood training in order to strengthen the value-for-money of the grants and help the families plan long term survival strategies.
