Overordnede mål
The overall objective of the intervention is: To contribute towards Bhutan’s vision of going 100% organic by fostering environmentally, socially and economically sound, resilient and sustainable livelihood strategies by integrating the principles of agro-ecological farming and ecosystem management among small scale Bhutanese farmers.
Umiddelbare mål
Obj. 1) Develop a participatory organic agro-ecological extension method for the empowerment, cooperation and advocacy capacity of the target groups based on the FFLG approach. Obj. 2) Enhanced capacity of small scale farmers use of organic agro-ecological farming systems methods to increase food security. Obj. 3) Identify areas for integrating Natural Resource Management and ecosystem management into sustainable climate resilient livelihood strategies for the target groups.
Målgrupper
* Rural households and farmer families; 300 households (approximately 2000 individuals) participating in 14 farmer groups facilitated to improve organising themselves and in organic agriculture farming practices. * Local community in general in project areas: 5000 individuals living in the villages and gewogs where the project is implemented. Learning and capacity building in the local communities including improved access to healthy and locally produced food, better food security and diversity.
Resume
Projektet har til formål at udvikle en deltagerorienteret økologisk landbrugsrådgivnings-metode, der kan støtte Bhutans nationale mål i processen frem mod at blive 100% økologisk; sikrer fødevaresikkerhed blandt målgruppen og forberede udviklingen af lokale bæredygtige klimastrategier ved at integrere økologisk jordbrug og natur-ressource management. Den primære målgruppe er 300 bhutanesiske landbrugs-familier i alt ca. 2000 personer, der er organiseret i 14 Farmer Family Learning Groups (FFLG) i to distrikter. Projektet kapacitetsudvikler ikke kun 14 eksterne Farmer Family Learning Group facilitatorer i bondeorganisering og økologisk landbrug, men alle medlemmerne af de 300 familier og deres lokalsamfund. Dette sker ved at kombinere Royal Society for Nature Protection (RSPN)s ekspertise inden for natursystemers økologi, bevarelse af natur og biodiversitet med Økologisk Landsforenings erfaringer og ekspertise indenfor økologisk jordbrug og udviklingen af økologiske landbrugsgrupper (FFLG).
