Overordnede mål

Student unions at UDS speak the students’ voice, represent their rights and needs as well as their possibilities for relevant quality education that prepares them for the job market

Umiddelbare mål

'- The Student Union Organization: To empower student unions to govern internal affairs independently from outside influence in order to achieve a democratic and strong position allowing them to represent the rights and needs of the students. - The Student Union Leaders: To build the capacity of student leadership to become influential and positioned to best serve the interest of students. Specifically, the objective is to develop strategies for liaising with university and government authorities and to engage duty bearers in the improvement of tertiary education quality and relevance (to the job market). - The Job Market: To have a designated role in creating a stronger linkage between students and the job market by organizing employment related activities and involving students.

Målgrupper

The project aims to support student unions in obtaining capacity to influence the local university authorities by strengthening the voices of the student leaders and empowering politically active student unions. The project focuses on empowering student unions at UDS at various levels. Over a period of two years, 110 student leaders will receive leadership training to build their capacity including a Training of Trainers (ToT) seminar, which will enable the student leaders to train other members of their student unions and act as resource persons to ease the transition process, when new student leaders are elected. These resource persons will act as trainers and personal mentors for new generations of student leaders. The primary target group therefore consist of 110 student leaders representing the following selected unions.

For at støtte op om videregående uddannelse i Nordghana søger projektet at styrke lokale studenterorganisationer på University for Development Studies. Projektet har et dobbelt fokus på dels at styrke studenterorganisationerne på de videregående uddannelser og give dem kapaciteterne til at tale de studerendes sag over for institutionernes ledelser og relevante myndigheder, og dels at støtte op at skabe en stærkere kobling mellem uddannelse og erhverv ved at facilitere studenterorganisationernes engagement i problemstillingen.
