The escalating conflict in Lasanod area in SOOL region is yet another crisis facing Somaliland, a country already grappling with a severe drought and ongoing security challenges. Lasanod city is currently in the midst of a deadly conflict that has resulted in over 170 people being killed and over 500 injured in Lasanod and thus far. This includes seven children and their mothers. More than 50 schools have been closed, affecting the education of over 15,000 children, and an estimated 185,282 individuals have been displaced, as per the interagency assessment report published on February 13th, 2023. This intervention has been selected due to the lifesaving of humanitarian needs in tree villages in SOOL region. To help and save lives Guryasamo & SHiFAT will work to Improved food security and access and availability of Hygiene kits among target people in selected villages in SOOL region. Our target will be 300 HH of the most vulnerable people in tree villages in SOOL Regions.
