Resume

With this intervention, we will roll out a concept for village-based, local, low-carbon development in four South Asian countries: the Eco-Village Development (EVD) concept. It is a prosperous and proven development concept that the partners have the competence to use, following five years of cooperation, and much longer individual experiences. With this wider implementation of the concept in new areas and on new levels, we will foster development in poor, rural areas. To maximise results in the intervention, we will combine local activities with capacity building to involve more actors (MFIs, SHGs, corporate sector, CSOs), and with advocacy to increase political support, also internationally. The target groups are poor, marginal, and climate vulnerable people in villages in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. They will receive training, necessary information and support to improve their living standards and livelihood through introduction of low greenhouse gas solutions.
