The World Health Organization (WHO) declared a novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) a pandemic on 11 March 2020. The disease’s sudden onset was in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei Province in China in December 2019. It was categorized as a global emergency on 30 January 2020.The virus is a global public health problem and has infected over 5,701,337 people in almost entire the world resulting in nearly 400.000 deaths. Situation Overview Two months after, Somalia now has one of the highest numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases in east Africa region. Cases continue to be under reported, and according to WHO, the actual rates are likely to be higher and spreading can be fast. Kalabaydh district is located 33km from Las anood in Sool region in Somalia/somaliland, it has a population of 15000 people very hight density both resident of rural and IDPs. Kalabaydh is struggling to overcome extreme climate and conflict difficulties in recent years. . CHURDO plan to response the current COVID19 crisis proposing two months intervention to contain the spreading, and prevent, and protect the community to this horrific virus and also immediate improving the impact that caused the livelihood for 200 most vulnerable families among community.
