Resume

The PPN Program builds strong civil societies taking active part in sustainable management and conservation of tropical forest ecosystems and improvement of livelihoods in forest adjacent communities in Kenya and Uganda and Nepal. The PPN Programme benefits approx. 85.800+ people. The Participatory Forest Management (PFM) methodology is the overall approach of the PPN Program and is based on the recognition that forest resources are still important for the livelihoods of forest adjacent communities, and that previous century strict ‘policing’ of forest reserves didn’t lead to sustainable forest conservation and resource use. The Programs' impact objective is to conserve crucial biodiversity and long-term supply of forest resources and ecosystem benefits with a view to reducing the necessity for strict law enforcement by the authorities with time. The Program was launched in 2015.
