Overordnede mål
The main objective of the intervention is to provide accelerated livelihood intervention to enhance community resilience and livelihood strategies to the people affected.
Umiddelbare mål
1. To train 25 people (men and women) as Training of Trainers (ToTs) in basic agricultural, alternative livelihood techniques and disaster planning to teach other farmers in the affected communities by Dec. 2021 2. To empower 50 community leaders (adults, youth and women groups) with advocacy skills to engage government and other actors to provide long terms solutions to the communities along the White Volta in the Kumbungu District.
Målgrupper
528 people representing 350 farmers and 178 fishermen from 5 communities in the Kumbungu district of Northern Region of Ghana. Approximately 50 community members (10 from each community) including district assembly members to serve as community resilient advocates to actively engage political leaders

The Acceleration Livelihood for Emergency Action (ALEA) is a 1-year (Jan – Dec 2020) emergency community resilience and humanitarian project. ALEA is designed to address an emergency in the YOPP/Norsaac and DGI-Midtjylland operational area. The project seeks to build resilient structures in flood prone communities along the White Volta in the Kumbungu District of Northern Region of Ghana. The project combines needs and rights based approaches by providing basic needs in the short term and at the same time facilitate community advocacy to hold policy makers responsible to provide long term solutions to the perennial floods in the area. The people go about their daily chores with COVID-19 restrictions and thus the project will not be directly affected by it. Safety protocols by the Ghana Health Service and the WHO’s will be respected.
