AHAS Group (African Hum. Hiv/Aids Support Group)

AHASG–African Humanitarian & HIV/AIDS Support Group was founded in 1995. It was initially constituted as an NGO to campaign and educate on HIV/AIDS issues. As some of our members in the community have also other capacities and interest that need to be answered the organization has gradually been involved into other areas of humanitarian activities like dispatching school and hospital equipment to targeted areas in Zanzibar through GTS program. AHAS Group has undergone an evolution as time goes by and we have now moved into a multiple humanitarian affair NGO. This is an organizational growth. As a member of CISU we are also obliged to apply for developmental projects and this we have done some years back and we will do again. ZATU-Zanzibar Teacher Union is our main Partner in Zanzibar but we also have ZANAID, a small NGO as a second partner as well. Both partners are very active.
