Tarea is an organization that has been working in Peru since 1974, in the management of development projects in the area of education. Since its foundation, the institutional work has been aimed at developing the capacities of groups of teachers, residents and young people from the urban and rural popular sectors. In the mid-1980s, TAREA incorporated public school work into its work, developing a curricular proposal for Primary Education; in the 90s it was extended to Citizen Education and School Management issues; This foray into public school makes him and the teacher priority actors. At the end of the 90s TAREA had a permanent presence in Ayacucho, thus expressing the institutional commitment to the region most affected by political violence and the need to contribute to a culture of peace. Since 2000, TAREA has been working on the construction of pedagogical proposals in the field of rural education, especially addressing the issue of intercultural bilingual education in the Cusco region. Currently, TAREA participates in three regions of Peru: Ayacucho, Cusco and Metropolitan Lima, developing the issues of intercultural bilingual education, rural education and student leadership, alternative basic education, with people who are not served, or are partially served, by the State.
