Dansk Ornitologisk Forening (DOF)

DOF BirdLife er et fællesskab for fugleinteresserede, som beskytter vilde fugle og deres levesteder i Danmark og internationalt. Foreningen rummer i dag godt 17.500 medlemmer. De inddrages i arbejdet med naturovervågning og indsamling af fugledata, som grundlag for DOF BirdLife’s naturpolitiske arbejde for mere og bedre natur i Danmark og EU til gavn for både fugle og biodiversitet. Internationalt arbejder DOF BirdLife med opkøb af degenereret tropisk skov og bæredygtig forvaltning af tropiske skovområder, som er særligt vigtige i forhold til beskyttelse af biodiversitet i almindelighed og trækfugle og endemiske arter i særdeleshed. DOF BirdLife’s skovforvaltningsarbejde har desuden et klimasigte. DOF BirdLife er den danske partner i BirdLife International - verdens største partnerskab for naturbevarelse og fuglebeskyttelse - aktiv i 113 lande fordelt på fem kontinenter.
