Resume

The project aims to reduce current barriers that are block more sustainable rice production methods from being implemented, and create the enabling conditions necessary to allow more climate-friendly sustainable rice-production practices to flourish in the country. Specifically the project aims to: 1. Create enabling conditions and supporting policies through facilitation of policy dialogue. 2. Facilitate a multi-stakeholder platform for improved sustainable rice governance. 3. Facilitate increased market access opportunities through focused private sector engagement, with a specific focus on the small rice millers that are critical to achieving efficiency in rice production (improving their capacity). 4. Explore and facilitate opportunities for increased access to finance for rice producers - i.e., improved business models for sustainable rice, and access to low-cost loans for improved milling equipment.
