Resume

To address Early Warning of increasing food insecurity in Zimbabwe, this 6-month Early Action will provide inputs to and re-establish 500 household gardens in wards 6 and 9 of the Chimanimani district, in Manicaland. 500 families will be selected among the 1,000 families who were part of UFF-Humana and DAPP’s intervention in the wake of cyclone “Idai” earlier in 2019. The action will target 60% female farmers and have distribution of inputs, training in improved agricultural practices and establishment and operation of nurseries as main activities. The Action will strengthen farmers, particularly women’s, capacity to cope with climate shocks in the event of erratic rainfalls as well as build the resilience of the community and capacity of key stakeholders.
