Resume

Heavy monsoon rainfalls in Nepal's southern parts have caused flooding and landslides in 26 districts. This has badly affected the lives of people about 242,097 people (according to Nepal Red Cross Society) causing the death of 123 people, with 39 missing and 39 injured. The intervention will support a total of 500 households out of the total number of households, which is estimated at 15,000. The intervention will be distribution of food kits and various NFI kits including WASH, health, protection and shelter. Based on needs/gap assessments carried out by CARE and partners, the activities are planned to meet the gaps in two of the areas that CARE works in with long-term development, namely Bardiya and Kailali districts. There is lack of other agencies working here.
