Resume

In the proposed project ‘Development of a Farmer Field School approach to organic farming in Uganda’, the Danish and Ugandan partners have identified Western Region of Uganda as focus area. A number of smaller NGOs are collaboration partners there, but have not so far been approached and included in the planning. Three main activities are planned: 1) Meetings with individual persons and organisation in the local area, and with relations to organic farming and farmer training in Uganda, 2) Five focus groups interviews in the chosen focus area and a workshop for stakeholders, in order to include all aspects of need for training, capacity building and community development. 3) A development workshop in Kampala, with 25 participants, of which at least 20 are local partners from different regions in Uganda with experience in organic / agro-ecological farming, participatory learning methods, or organisation strategies. These activities are expected to make the project proposal targeted, relevant and including all aspects of needs from different groups within the population and communities.
