Resume

This programme is an urban programme, with a key focus on young people living in slums and informal settlements across cities in Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and Sierra Leone. It is a partnership between Dreamtown and six partner organisations. The programme’s overall impact is directly aligned with SDG 11, contributing towards making cities inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable for young people. Through youth-led entrepreneurship, we support young people to increase their income through businesses that at the same time have the potential for making a positive impact on their community. Through youth-led public space interventions, we support the development of green spaces with trees and shade; creative spaces for sports and arts, and safe spaces where young women feel included in community life, without the fear of harassment. Through young people’s collective voice, we advocate urban decision makers for their support and action towards more youth-friendly cities.
