Resume

Africa Engage - Film as a powerful tool for global and social change. Africa Engage has a two-sided purpose: 1. With this program we want to engage Danish young people more and better, by showing them films which portray development issues and have the quality and importance to engage with their audiences. 2. At the same time, we want to take it further, and establish professional relations between the African and the Danish film industry. The program highlights that African filmmakers actually do create and produce high quality content, that there is a film industry in Africa and that Africa is a continent, which has enormous potential at so many levels. Film is one way to remember the forgotten continent – and Denmark/Europe better wake up and engage on a higher level. We arrange 10 sessions, including film screenings, debates and think tanks for engagement with Danish stakeholders, who represent the public educational arena as well as the professional film community.
