Resume

The project aims to build climate resilience in vulnerable communities in the Yungas Ecoregion (and highlands) in Bolivia and Peru. Both countries face severe impacts from drought, reduced precipitation, and water scarcity, worsened by the current El Niño event. The retreat of glaciers in the highlands and diminishing water resources along the Andean slopes threaten communities already struggling with limited access to drinking water, food shortages, and loss of livestock. The intervention focuses on enhancing community capacity for adapting to drought and water shortages, including sustainable water management for improved Andes-Amazon hydrology, as well as advocating for climate-adapted decision-making and livelihoods for impoverished communities.
