Overall targets

The people of Injil district are able to advocate for their rights to better health

Immediate targets

1) By the end of September 2019, more than 200 men and women from the Injil district are able to advocate for their health rights through formalised advocacy groups. 2) By the end of September 2019, targeted public health authorities in the Injil district have strengthened knowledge about local health concerns and takes steps to address them

Target groups

The primary target groups of this intervention consist of 1) 200 representatives (100 male and 100 female) from 10 communities in Injil district, who will be trained in advocacy and make up 10 advocacy groups, each representing their community/cluster of minimum 200 people and 2) 12 NPO/RRAA staff, who will receive capacity building in advocacy to be able to implement the project. The indirect target groups consist of 1) 1000 close family members of the 100 male and 100 female participants, to whom the knowledge about advocacy will be disseminated by the primary target group and 2) NPO/RRAA as an organisation, that will gain more knowledge on how to implement and apply advocacy in their future organisational work.

Fomålet med interventionen er at kapacitetsudvikle og styrke lokalbefolkningen i Injil distriktet i Herat provins, Afghanistan i at kunne advokere for deres sundhedsrettigheder og forbedre deres adgang til sundhedsydelser. Målet er at træne, etablere og give 20 advocacy grupper redskaber til at kunne blive i stand til at advokere på vegne af deres respektive communities. Den afghanske NGO RRAA vil ligeledes blive kapacitetsudviklede i advocacy, så de herefter vil kunne fortsætte indsatsen med at styrke lokalbefolkningens viden om advocacy og kapacitetsopbygge dem i at advokere for egne sundhedsrettigheder. Dette vil styrke RRAA i rollen som en aktiv civilsamfunds aktør, der er stand til at skabe bæredygtige sociale forandring gennem styrkelse af det afghanske civilsamfund.
