Resume

The overall objective of the project is to improve the wellbeing of young people in urban informal settlements and low-income communities in Sierra Leone. The project’s strategy towards achieving this change is based on four strategies: i) CSOs will improve their capacity to implement youth-led programmes in urban communities; ii) Youth leaders and youth groups from urban communities will strengthen their capacity to take the lead in community development; iii) Local youth groups will be supported to take action in transforming their communities into more safe, green and creative spaces; and iv) Collaboration between young people, civil society actors, and local and community authorities around youth development priorities. The project takes place in 8 communities across the three cities of Freetown, Koidu and Makeni. The project is expected to directly engage more than 1.600 youth and is implemented in partnership with Youth Dream Centre Sierra Leone and 8 community based organisation
