Resume

Poor MHM negatively impacts girls’ learning and participation in school. Accumulated loss of education can result in increasingly poor performance, loss of motivation, and dropping out of school, thus, limiting their future opportunities. Poo MHM. Therefore, the proposed intervention will improve the well-being of schoolgirls and combat the negative stigma related to MHM. The intervention is taking a rights-based approach as well as incorporatin experimental activities carried out as pilot projects. Overall, this intervention will improve the duty-bearers capacity to meet their obligations in encouraging, realizing, and protecting the schoolgirls’ rights. This intervention will also broaden Afrah’s reach in the community and strengthen DM-Aid’s partnership and engagement in civil society interventions. Consequently, Afrah will be able to improve its capacity to become a leader in the implementation and continuation of good MHM practices for the Luwero district.
