Resume

The overall objective of the intervention is; to strengthen youth engagement in violence prevention and peace building between political fractions and clans in Somaliland (towards peaceful elections in 2024). We will do this through our specific objective 1; to reduce clan and political tension by fostering dialogue among youth affiliated with both ruling and opposition political parties and by bringing them together for street sports activities organized and led by volunteer youth coaches and through specific objective 2; to promote peaceful participation in elections, freedom of expression, and foster diverse perspectives through community dialogue forums and advocacy campaigns, promoting youth participation in democratic processes and getting youth to vote through radio and SoMe. We will establish activities in Burco and Hargeisa, creating safe spaces for dialogue and sports and utilizing sports and a leadership program to empower youth as change agents in peacebuilding.
