Resume

The purpose of the intervention is to expand the boundaries of transformation and opportunities for girls through advocacy at organisational and girls level, and sustained partnerships. Expansion of choice and strengthening of voice entail a transformation of unequal power relations in schools and communities. Facilitating active participation of target groups in evidence-based advocacy for actions towards quality education, gender equality and equity and justice is the project's approach to a strengthened civil society. This is a step-up on REEP’s tested strategy of “nothing for me without me”. A point of departure for this project is that REEP has mapped out points from the GREAT project and have been involved in the ongoing Youth On Board project by YOTA. The aspect of communication, campaigns, education and advocacy at all levels of the society are crucial to changing gender and social norms of the target groups which will have a lasting impact for their livelihood opportunities.
