Resume

The right to education is universal and inalienable and enshrined in international law through several conventions. Not only do all people have the right to receive quality education but they also have the right to the knowledge and skills that will enable them to contribute economically and socially and that will enable them, if necessary, to lift themselves out of poverty and gain the means to contribute to and participate in their communities. The fact that the right to quality education is not recognized for many children in Africa is the main rationale for this programme.
