Resume

The Danish-Somali NGO, Iftin Women's Association, is partnering with the Somali NGO, Action for Rural Development, to create a Covid 19 info + action team. The team's responsibility is to prevent Covid19 from infecting the inhabitants of Balimataan village 80 km south of the capital Hargeisa. To counter the threat of Covid19, six simple preventive measures are being planned. These include creating the Covid19 team, building 20 handwashing stations, handing out personal eating utensils, subsidizing 15 food shops owner, repairing a broken ambulance and erecting road signs ordering visitors with symptoms to not enter the village. These measures are the first steps to prevent the spread of Covid19, and they can be ramped up to include mask-wearing and social distancing in case Balimataan is seriously hit by Covid19.
