Resume

The ‘deinstitutionalization’ (DI) movement, also known as ‘care reform movement’, is spreading slowly across the globe. The intension of this project is to contribute to DI in Nepal by collecting evidence-based practices to inform local, provisional, and national policy. The project will be implemented at local government level where after the devolution of state power in 2015 local governments have responsibility but rarely the ability or budget, to secure social welfare services including child protection. This project seeks to capacity strengthen key municipality stakeholders so they can develop contextual relevant strategies, so they are able to welcome and support care leavers safely home and prevent children being trafficked in the future.
