Overall targets

Reduced spread and impact of HIV by reducing stigma and discrimination

Immediate targets

The objective of the prject is to increase the capacity of the partner organisation and the female sex workers (the primary target group) to plan and carry out effective interventions for reduction of stigmatisation of HIV and sex workers

Target groups

1) Female sex workers living with or affected by HIV (30 peer leaders will be trained to reach out to larger numbers of women, 150 will get business training and loans, 75 young girls in sex work given vocational training, 60 children of sex workers trained), 2) staff from partner organization (all women, some former sex workers), 3) formal and informal leaders and decision-maker, health care providers, actual or potential clients of sex workers, general population.

Dette tre-årige projekt fokuserer på reduktion af hiv&aids gennem afstigmatisering af hiv og hiv-smittede sexarbejdere i Nairobi. Sexarbejderne trænes og indgår i planlægning og gennemførelse af projektets aktiviteter, som omfatter medie-kampagner, workshops med mandlige kunder, anti-stigma træning af sundhedspersonale, forskellige fortaler-indsatser osv. Projektet giver også sexarbejderne alternative indtægtsmuligheder gennem træning og mikrolån
