Resume

Public Participation in Kenya is considered a crucial pillar of democracy and is guaranteed in the Kenyan Constitution. Public participation forms part of Kenya's devolved governance structure. Public participation promotes democracy by providing the public with the opportunity to take part in decision-making processes in the country. Public participation in Kenya is important in the budget process and the legislative process. In Siaya County of Kenya, there is low Public Participation in decision making process; recognising low public participation in decision making processes at local level in Siaya County, this intervention shall seek to capacity build members of RUDECO, a community-based organisation in Siaya County to effectively engage in public participation and therefore contribute towards increasing citizens participation in decision making processes in Siaya county.
