Resume

This project will improve the personal capacity of young people in Likoni and Kisauni, Mombasa, so that they are able to address their personal challenges and negative coping strategies and initiate and access economic empowerment opportunities. It will kickstart livelihood projects initiated and driven by the local youth to expand the economic activity in Mombasa and support the youth in becoming job-creators. It will also build the capacity of the youth to address the structural barriers to youth employment by lobbying community elders and religious leaders at the local level and government officials, authorities, and private sector at county level through active participation in the community barazas (meeting) and community forums. Finally, it will improve the capacity of Kenya Red Cross Society to design and implement youth programs using approaches and methodologies that are tailor-made for this specific target group.
