Resume

The objective for ESFROMA programme phase 2 is: ‘Increased food security, income, climate resilience and stronger civil society encompassing 20,000 small-scale farmer families (FFLGs) in Uganda and Tanzania’. The programme 1) increases household food security among small-scale farmer families by 25 % 2) leaves behind a stronger and better organized rural civil society capable of advocating for climate change agendas and budgets at local government level 3) strengthens the market access of organic produce from small-scale farmers organized in 50 farmer-owned enterprises. Innovations in ESFROMA 2 are coordinated by the programme knowledge and resource hub ‘Kilimo Organic Farmer Learning Centre’ (KOFLEC) and are centred on upscaling the Organic Farmer Family Learning Group (FFLG) Approach; advocating for climate change adaptation strategies and strengthening market access for organic produce. The primary beneficiaries are 20,000 farmer families organized in more than 800 Organic FFLGs.
