Resume

The overall aim of the project is to establish a national system for basic school-based oral health care for the children of Palestine based on a developed model called ASMA and a new national oral health strategy. Dental Health Without Borders (DHWB) and Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS) have helped to develop this strategy during a previous project, and the planned effort builds upon solid working relationships with relevant decision-makers and stakeholders, and not least, successful project results and experiences already achieved. To ensure broad anchoring and sustainability, the project has a strong focus on the capacity building of a national oral health committee as well as empowering PMRS and local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) so that strong representative forces from civil society can support and hold the Palestinian authorities accountable for the implementation of the developed national system and oral health strategy.
