Resume

The intervention aims to strengthen civil society to protect vulnerable target groups, volunteers and staff through capacity building on safeguarding and Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Sexual Harass-ment. UPIZ and PFF will each develop a safeguarding policy. As part of this process target groups will be involved to ensure they get their views and experiences captured in the policy’s procedures. The intervention will go onto strengthen a prison CSO alliance (PHAC partners) on safeguarding to inspire a common language and joint advocacy. Following that, the partners will engage duty bearers in discussions around safeguarding to sensitize and educate them on the issue and their obligations. Finally, PFF and UPIZ have identified areas for administrative and/or accounting capacity building. UPIZ will get human resource capacity building (a staff handbook), and PFF will have their accounting systems strengthened and staff capacity building.
