Resume

The ’Women Empowerment in Local Development – Phase 2’ project focuses on empowering women at the grassroot level (rural villages) in India. This will be a continuation of the CISU funded intervention Women Empowerment in Local Development (21-3360-CSP-MI), taking place in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, India. This new intervention will continue this focus on empowering women at grassroots level in rural villages in the state of Bihar, India. The empowerment of the women will come through the concept of Women Leadership School (WLS), which was also used in Phase 1, that engages around changing women's limited roles in decision making at home and in the village, and through Women Farmers Schools (WFS) that will promote gender equality and skills enhancement of women in agriculture, to increase their income from farming and to ensure that their work will no longer be considered secondary to that of men.
