Resume

The project is responding to the acute nutritional needs and gaps of children under 5 and pregnant and lactating women in Anfilo, Oromia, designated hotspot 1 priority district. It will contribute to the coordinated response by backstopping WFP and UNICEF, which are overwhelmed by the rise in needs, and where implementing partners and funding has not followed. The intervention is based on: i) re-enforcing health capacities, health personnel and health structures to manage (prevent and treat) moderate acute malnourished (MAM) and severe acute malnourished (SAM) children under 5 and pregnant and lactating women (PLW); ii) supporting WFP and UNICEF's Targeted Supplementary Feeding Programme (TSFP) by distributing supplementary food to moderate acute malnourished (MAM) children and Pregnant and Lactating Women (PLW).
