Overall targets

Eradicate all social and health related inequalities for people living with HIV/AIDS and promote an environment of non-discrimination related to HIV-status in the rural district of Itezhi-Tezhi

Oc1. Reduced levels of experienced stigma and discrimination of people living with HIV/AIDS in Itezhi-Tezhi (main objective) Oc2. Increased access to non-discriminatory health services with special focus on women and gender

Resume

Indsatsen vil bekæmpe stigma og diskrimination af mennesker, der lever med hiv, i det rurale Zambia. Gennem selv-organiserede grupper af hiv-positive vil vi sprede viden om hiv/aids i lokalsamfundet og dermed bidrage til at flere bliver testet og kommer i behandling. Samtidig skaber projektet også adgang til ikke-stigmatiserende sundhedsydelser. Det udbygger også kapaciteten af den lille organisation, IWAWA, til at varetage større projekter og samarbejder i fremtiden.
