This partnership with MST, the landless workers movement in Brazil, focuses on the Northeast region, a region severely threatened by climate change related challenges. The intervention focus on the states of, Piauí, Alagoas and Paraíba, where the main activities are ecological restoration of degraded land and the production of tree seedlings while training and capacitating settled families to establish, manage and advocate for these production systems, which will contribute to creating sustaining living conditions that are resilient to a world undergoing climate change. Thus the purpose of the intervention is: Ecological restoration and establishment of Agroforestry Systems has enhanced the climate resilience of 30.000 agrarian settlers in Northeast Brazil, who are capacitated to implement and advocate for an agroecological production system adapted to climate change. In the long term the intervention is securing increased food security and economic base of the settlers.
