Resume

The project aims at making community members in Geita district in Tanzania aware of and able to adapt to climate change by building the capacity of youth leaders within climate change adaptation, community mobilization and communication. Capacity building of farmers in climate-smart agriculture, establishment of farmers groups and construction of demonstration greenhouses as a learning space will strengthen the knowledge and practical skills of farmers and make them more resilient towards climate change. National policies on climate change adaptation are in place, but for the policies to reach local level the project focuses on creating awareness through film screenings and community dialogues by youth leaders, promotion of climate-smart agriculture through demonstration greenhouses and at Nane Nane Farmers’ Day as well as by arranging training and workshops for stakeholders and local government.
