Resume

Promoting the 2019 UN Resolution on the Rights of the Child and UN Alternative Care Guidelines in Colombia, with a special focus on children and youth with HIV (PURACG) aims to enhance the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) in the Colombia context, with focus on the 2019 Resolution and the Alternative Care Guidelines. The 2019 Resolution was the first to call direct focus to children without parental care and to emphasis the right of children to family- and community- based alternative care solutions. This project focuses on capacity building social workers, foster families, and NGOs in Colombia in accordance with Resolution and the Guidelines through the development and implementation of a training course and through sharing Fundamor's experience with transitioning from an orphanage model to a community-based support model. The project focuses especially on promoting family-based alternatives for children with HIV/AIDS.
