Resume

The right to education is universal, inalienable, and enshrined in international law through several conventions. All people have the right to receive quality education, gain knowledge and skills that can lift them out of poverty and at the same time contribute to the social and democratic development of communities. The Eco-School methods and approach translates the principles of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) into practice by infusing environmental and climate education, action-based learning, and student-centred teaching methods into primary and secondary education in Tanzania and Rwanda. Programme activities primarily involve students, parents, community leaders, and local and national duty bearers. The programme seeks to enhance the quality of education, promoting sustainable and climate resilient community development, and advocating for children’s right to quality education.
