Resume

The purpose is to help communities in Lupane to adapt to climate changes. Lupane consists predominantly of subsistence farmer families who are severely affected by climate changes and have limited access to knowledge on Conservation Agriculture(CA) farming. The intervention will establish CA farms in 4 schools serving as demonstration units. The schools will be engaged in developing teaching methods and materials for input to new curriculum related to agricultural and cooking practices adapting to climate change. The farms will produce supplements to a daily meal for pupils and staff during the school terms. Events at the school farms will serve as inspiration for local farmers in formation of Farmer Family Learning Groups. The groups will be focusing on CA and food technologies adapting to climate change. The government supports the propagation of CA and this intervention will support the efforts to reach vulnerable farmers in areas which are mostly affected by climate change.
