Resume

Amnesty International (hereafter AI), in partnership with local Indigenous organizations, has developed a project to empower Indigenous communities and entities in Puebla, Mexico. This initiative is a result of a collaboration between AI Denmark (AIDK) and AI Mexico (AIMEX) and will support 10 Indigenous entities in Puebla over an 18-month period starting in 2024. The project seeks to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and collaborative efforts of the Nahua and Totonaca Indigenous defenders and communities, with the primary objective to jointly defend their land, territory, and environment in the state of Puebla, Mexico. The project will support Indigenous organizations, collectives, and councils in Puebla that are actively defending their rights against infringements by both the state and private entities.
