Resume

Building on experience from the two Urban Space Challenges done by Dreamtown and YMCA Sierra Leone in 2019-20, we now follow up with a project to see youth in Kissy and Dwarzark, two communities in Freetown, actively take part in community development, and mobilise support from local duty bearers in the process. The target group represents a broad young civil society. We will support 15 youth groups to grow and sustain their different community spaces and activities, which include water points, skills training, waste management, meeting spaces for youth, safety, gender equality, psysical health and psychosocial counselling. All to support the wellbeing of other youth in the communities. Project inlcudes customized technical capacity building for the groups and platforms for collaboration among them at community and city level. Our long-term vision is to create a platform for creative and innovative youth communities in Freetown that can inspire each other - and inspire others.
