The SLLC will provide immediate support to frontline healthcare workers to enhance their safety at work as well as support the most vulnerable groups in the labour market (workers in the informal economy and migrant workers) by enhancing their knowledge about how to protect themselves from COVID-19 and distributing essential relief kits. The response coordinated by DTDA and SLLC is addressing the following GHRP priorities: Strategic priority 1:” Contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and decrease morbidity and mortality”. Under this strategic priority, 350.000 persons will be made aware and sensitised on COVID-19 prevention measure (through TV and radio, in public places and selected vulnerable workplaces). Moreover, 250 Personal protection equipment (PPE) will be distributed to the most frontline Health workers and 500 prevention kits distributed among the most vulnerable workers in the informal economy workers and migrant workers Strategic priority 2” Decrease the deterioration of human assets and rights, social cohesion, food security and livelihoods”. Under this strategic priority, 550 handwashing and Hygiene systems will be placed at the entrance of selected market places, hospitals and health care centres and will allow the handwashing of an estimated 158.000 persons.
