Resume

The overall objective is to contribute to the rehabilitation of youth and children in local underserved communities in Nakuru, Kenya who have participated in/or are victims of violence and/or drug abuse; and for the overall frequency of youth-inflicted violence and drug abuse to drop in the targeted areas. We will do this through: Specific objective 1: To reduce the number of youth and children involved in violent crimes and drug abuse through street sports activities organized and led by volunteer youth coaches and linking the intervention to ongoing MHPSS and livelihoods programmes. We have also added a specific objective 2: to have more focus on girls participating in activities through specific girl-zone/safe spaces and activities that attract young women and girls. Building on our prior intervention, this intervention will use already built youth-led sports infrastructure, together with 10 new and 50 experienced volunteer coaches impacting thousands of local youths and kids.
