Resume

The Green Communities Project is an environmental and climate change awareness creation project. The project explores means and ways to communicate to community members regarding environmental behaviour change, safe environmental practices and the effects of climate change in ways that makes sense to community members. The project targets five communities in the Kumbungu and Tolon Districts of Northern Ghana and adopts communication, awareness creation, behaviour change and call-for-action strategies. The project aims to create awareness regarding the realities of environmental degradation and climate change and how to involve local people to lead in the creation of green communities through behaviour change, responsible plastic disposal and tree planting. This is not a climate change project but seeks to create awareness around environmental issues that lead to climate change. We believe that safe environmental practices and climate change are interconnected.
