Resume

The main goal of the appraisal trip is to complete the project application in cooperation with Karwan Devel-opment Foundation (KDF) and representatives from the target communities, and ensure a matching of expectations between the project partners for the project itself, as well as basic development terminology de-finitions. An organizational assessment of KDF will be carried out to support the organizational capacity development planning in the first component; and selection of 1-3 pilot communities in the Charsadda district will be made by KDF and the communities themselves trough a rapid rural assessment (RRA). Meetings with civil society actors and authorities will be held to inform them of the proposed project, promote KDF as an NGO working with DRR and include them in the preparation and implementation. An overall internal understanding of the need of a participatory approach using capacity building and advocacy as a main tool will be discussed, including the level of participation needed throughout the project cycle.
